Depth Definition Post

Definition Post

The distance from the top or surface to the bottom of something.

Describing words: Far, Blurred, 3-D,

This image is an example of depth, it's using the eyes of the cat to show that the nose is closer to the camera making it look 3-D. Instead of the image looking flat and 2-D the use of depth has changed that and given it a 3-D look.

Here the buildings are used to make the padlock look closer once again giving that 3-D effect. I like this image and chose it because of the amazing effect and crisp of the image.

This is the use of depth on a natural photo, the rock no longer looks 2-D as you can see that in the background the hills are further away, they are not in line with the rock and therefore shows you that the rock is 3-D.

This image specifically targets the bottle, it's using the trees and street in the background to show that the bottle is 3-D. I like this image because there isn't a whole lot in the background, the images above have used enough to fill the background where as this has the gap in the middle and still looks 3-D.

My Definition: Depth is a way in which photographers add life to a 2-D photo making a specific object seem 3-D.
