Depth Work Diary

Work Diary

During this session we started to photograph form but as the sun went out we could no longer take photos of form, so we moved onto depth which became a lot easier to take photos of. Depth is a way of using your surrounds to make the image look 3-D, you use the objects in the background actually look like they are in the background rather than in line with anything in the foreground.

This is one of the best photos from the session, using the bar in the foreground I tried to make the chairs and tables seem further away using depth and therefore making the image seem 3-D. Although this photo captures depth well, the glare on the glass ruins the image a bit, it takes your attention away from the depth of the photo.

This image uses depth using the wall as the photo runs down it and then the door frame makes it look like another image within the frame. the use of light here also helps with the depth as the foreground is dark and the background gets brighter separating the two areas.

To improve on this session I would have liked to spent more time with depth, I would have liked to go some where other then just the college campus, maybe into Harlow town or anywhere that i could find different objects and easier ways to take photos.
